Taylor Ridge Vineyard grows on a wooded bluff 4.9 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Its sandy loam soil derives from prehistoric beaches that, over millennia, rose to 915 feet elevation. Cool air and fog from Tomales and Bodega Bays drift over the vineyard, permitting slow ripening of the fruit. The 2013 crop of Swan selection Pinot Noir was hand harvested between September 28th and October 2nd with a yield of 2.05 tons per acre. Each lot received tailored cold-soak and hand punch-down treatment, then aged 25 months in neutral French Burgundy barrels. Notes: Our coolest-climate site with deeply nuanced, focused expression: vibrant berry, wassail and sage-spice aromas that meet palate of red fruit, clove, citrus rind, cinnamon and baking spices, yielding to fine, enduring, supple tannins.
