DESCRIPTION: This Riserva comes from limited locations of vineyards and from the best selection of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. 30 days of maceration with skins. 24 months in new French oak barrels- medium toasted and 9 months in bottle before the release
TASTING NOTES : Brilliant ruby red colour. Great nose of wild berries and morello cherries. Spicy notes of white pepper, cloves, chocolate and tobacco. Impressive on the palate, warm and juicy with very fine tannins that blend perfectly with full-bodied structure. Very long and fruity aftertaste.
Riccardo Baracchi and his family have devoted decades to restoring their ancestral properties and becoming the most highly-regarded estate in Cortona. They farm 22 hectares overlooking the Val di Chiana, cultivating both native and international vine varieties.
James Suckling Rating: 91 Points
Comments: Some juicy fruit with chocolate and currant character. Medium body, soft tannins and a savory finish. Better in 2018 but delicious now.
